When I lived in Florida in the early 90s Florida Power paid me to do a job guarding a conference in downtown St. Peterburg. It was not my one of my regular sites at the Weedon Island generation facility or the substatiion at St. Petersburg marina. I wore my usual black sneakers with the large size woven black cowboy hat with a Florida Power metal badge on the front. They expected me to wear shiny plastic marine shoes which I understood but I showed up in my sneakers anyway so I got the large parking lots duty for the duration of the conference.
